Perissa village

A village by the sea with a wonderful, enormous beach. One can see the pompous temple of Timios Stavros with 5 domes, celebrated on the 14th of September in great respect.

Not far from the village we find Monastery (Convent), built on the ruins of St.Irini`s old church which was believed to have given the name to the island of Santorini (Santa-Irini).

Luxurious hotels, tavernas and restaurants are abundant in Perissa while the beach road ends up to Perivolos where the old tomato factory is now turned into a restaurant.

On the left side of the road going to Exomitis, one can see the ancient tombs. Passing by the villas and pension’s, we reach the wonderful beach of Vlihada characterised by the distinct volcanic thiraic earth and its fishermen’s little port.

The long black sandy beach attracts thousands of visitors every year to its shore .A number of very nice hotels with all facilities, restaurants, tavernas, bars, discos and other facilities are available for the visitor. And the beach offers facilities such as windsurfing, water skiing and diving.
